FIRE SAFETY AND SECURITY

There are four main fire exits which are all clearly marked with lights which will become brighter in the event of a power failure.

One is the main entrance; there are two large exits are in the main Hall; and one

he stage door by the gents’ toilet.

There is a ramp available to the large exit for wheelchair users.

There are several fire extinguishers placed strategically around the Hall and on the stage.

In the event of a fire, people should (with the assistance of the appointed fire officer) maketheir way in an orderly manner to one of the fire exits and assemble on the footpath in front of the hall and wait for further instructions.

All hirers are to ensure that one person is nominated as a fire and safety officer who is then responsible for any fire or safety issue.

The ladies toilet in the main Hall is wheelchair friendly with a ramp available; the toilet is fitted with hand rails and an emergency alarm cord with audible alarm and flashing light.

We have CCTV installed on the premises, with four strategically placed cameras: two cover the front of the Hall and front entrance and one either side covering the side entrances.  It is on 24/7 and recording at all times day and night.

To ensure the security of the Hall and the safety of others, users are responsible for checking that all external doors are locked when leaving the Hall, as well as ensuring all lights and the heating is turned off, equipment is cleared away and rubbish put in the bins.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IT IS THE HIRERS RESPONSIBILITY TO CARRY OUT THEIR OWN RISK ASSESSMENT  NOT THE

HALL COMMITTEE.

THE HALL COMMITTEE HAVE THEIR OWN ASSESSMENT AND CAN BE VIEWED AT ANY TIME BY THE HIRER.
